The 23 million dollar project consists of driving 257 each x 36” diameter steel pipe piles around 3 piers (Piers C, D and E) under the Outerbridge Crossing. Installation of a 9 row 12” x 12” composite fender will be installed on the pipe piles. The existing wood fender system on the steel cofferdams will also be removed and a composite timber will be installed on the cofferdams. A floatable walkway will be installed at each of the piers from the fender system to the pier base.
