Sunrise Wind – Offshore Cable Landfall

Owner/Client: Orsted/JDN
Location: Smith Point, NY

Trevcon played a major role in the construction of one of the largest offshore wind installations in the United States, the Sunrise Wind Offshore Wind Turbine Array. Trevcon’s scope included receiving the power and fiber optic cables from the cable lay vessel and safely pulling them ashore through conduits buried beneath the ocean floor. Trevcon completed the scope with final burial of the cables following the pull-through operation.

Working offshore in the North Atlantic during winter conditions and near the surf zone presents significant operational challenges. Through careful planning and engineering, Trevcon developed a specialized approach to ensure the safe and efficient installation of the cables.

All offshore operations were performed in accordance with International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) standards.
