Trevcon was awarded two of the marine phases for the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal Port Upgrade Project for Equinor (Owner) by Skanska SBMT Builders, JV (a joint venture between Skanska USA Buildings and Skanska Civil). The two phases include the demolition and reconstruction of the 31st to 33rd St Platform and Bulkhead and furnishment and installation of the CTV dock. The 31st to 33rd St bulkhead portion of the work includes the installation of 400 LF of steel sheet piling walls with CIP sheeting cap, demolition of approximately 330 LF of existing lower-level platform and timber piles, installation of new 24″ x 145′ L steel pipe piles on land and in the water, precast pile caps and planks with a cast-in-place topping slab, with multiple curb walls and dock furnishings to top off the platform. The most critical portion of the work for our scope and the overall project is the landfall area of the offshore cables. Trevcon will install 2 ea. 30″ cable casings through the newly installed sheeting which will be landing point for the cables which are running from the offshore turbines and substations to the landside substations. The CTV Dock portion of the work includes a 224′ L x 14′ W floating dock secured by anchor piles to serve as the crew transfer dock for all operations and maintenance vessels servicing the future offshore wind projects.
