Andrew Haswell Green Park

The Andrew Haswell Park is a recent addition to the Greater Manhattan Waterfront Greenway project, an ongoing effort to ring the entire Manhattan waterfront with open green space for the public. Immediately to the south of Andrew Haswell Park lies the East Midtown Greenway, another project recently completed by Trevcon.

The Andrew Haswell wharf foundation consist of fifty-six, 30-inch diameter steel pipe piles driven to rock, a new pile closure bulkhead, precast cap and deck elements, as well as a precast precast bench elements that formed an architectural terrace structure.

Some of the challenges included concrete coring to remove the previous foundation elements for FDR drive, working around the existing combined sewer overflow that runs underneath the wharf, and high currents in the East River.
