Outerbridge Crossing Fender System

The scope of work for this $23 million project included: driving 257 each x 36″ diameter steel pipe piles around 3 piers (Piers C, D and E) under the Outerbridge Crossing, and installation of a 9 row 12″ x 12″ plastic composite fender system.

In addition, the existing wood fender system on the steel cofferdams was removed, and composite timber installed on the cofferdams. Lastly, a floatable walkway was installed at each of the piers from the fender system to the pier base.
